I just want to make a comment on the county commissioners giving themselves and the county judge a raise. It is unbelievable that they want to give themselves a raise when the private sector is taking pay cuts right now.

I am calling to complain about today's issue of the Advocate.

Victoria East had a big win last night but on the front page of the Advocate it only mentions Victoria West's loss and other football statistics.

I live in the West district, but this blatant favoritism is totally uncalled for.

I support the police department's efforts to unionize.

    Raises are always good but if you deserve it. It's not fair if you've been given a promotion/title change or were just recently hired for the county. These folks shouldn't get a raise at all. Give it to the folks who deserve it and WORK FOR IT.
