A semi-flatbed trailer carrying two John Deere tractors knocked down one power line in the parking lot of the Patti Welder Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Edward Reimer, of Con-ward Trucking, said he was trying to take a shortcut because of how wide the load was.
He was attempting to get to Loop 463.
He said he thought he had clearance, but didn't.
"I should have known better," he said.
American Electric Power was on site to fix the downed line. No homes or businesses lost power, said Elgin Janssen, AEP spokesperson. There were also no injuries.
The Victoria Police Department made sure traffic was diverted from the downed lines.

Unless the load was permitted for over height - appears the utilities were not meeting the minimum clearance guidelines above the roadway.
