A traffic stop late Tuesday night led to two arrests and a drug bust at a Victoria home.

The incident began when the driver of a red Chevrolet pickup evaded a traffic stop by Victoria police officers in the 4300 block of North Laurent Street, said Victoria Police Sgt. Eline Moya.

During the chase, a passenger jumped from the truck and fled on foot.

The driver was seen throwing drugs from the truck during the chase and the passenger was carrying a small bag of drugs as he ran, Moya said.

The traffic stop also led to the Special Crimes Narcotics Unit to execute a search warrant in the 2700 block of Leary Lane.

"A large amount of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy was seized," said Moya. No arrests were made at the home, but the investigation continues.

Jonathan Hernandez, 24, of Victoria, and his passenger, Noah Paul Meza, 29, of Beeville, were arrested after the chase by police officers.

Hernandez was charged with felony evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, felony possession of marijuana in a drug free zone, felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair, and three counts of felony manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance in a drug free zone. Meza was charged with evading arrest or detention on foot, felony possession of marijuana in a drug free zone, felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair, and three counts of felony manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance in a drug free zone.
