A look at March's weather

March continued to show a warming trend as high temperatures continued above normal. The hottest day of the month was 12 degrees hotter than the normal high temperature for March - 74.2 degrees.

The local warming trend was in line with what happened nationally. Last month was the warmest March on record in the U.S. (records go back to 1893) at 51 degrees, 8.6 degrees above the 20th century average, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
