VC opens tryouts for volleyballl and basketball

Tryouts for the VC Pirates women's volleyball and basketball teams will be held Saturday in the VC Sports Center Gym.

Women's basketball tryouts will be held at 10 a.m. and volleyball will be at 2 p.m.

If you are interested in joining the team but cannot make the date, please contact Josh Moore to arrange an alternative date.

Athletes who wish to tryout must email Moore at joshua.moore@victoriacollege.edu to register.

The tryout fee is $10 and students under 18 must bring a signed waiver. Please contact Moore with any questions.



Men's Basketball

The VC Pirates men's basketball team will be having open tryouts on April 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the VC Sports Center Gym.

There is a $10 tryout fee. The team will also be conducting Friday afternoon tryouts/workouts for next year's team on Friday, April 20 and April 27.

The workout/tryout will include a campus visit/tour along with working out with this year's team.

Only six potential student athletes will be chosen each Friday, so please contact Jonathan Anderson at jona.anderson@victoriacollege.edu as soon as possible if interested.

The workouts will start at 1:30 p.m. and, if needed, college day documentation will be provided. Scholarship positions are available for next season.



Men's Baseball

The Pirates baseball team will travel to College Station on Saturday and Sunday to continue conference play against the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 5 p.m. with a 15-minute break between games.

The single game Sunday will begin at noon.

This series will be played at A&M Consolidated High School located at 1801 Harvey Mitchell Parkway South in College Station.

The Pirates are currently in first place in the National Club Baseball Association District VII West with a 5-1 conference record.
