Why do you want to serve in this position?

I want to serve the public and teach them everything I know regarding their rights as property owners and make sure that the tax codes are followed and their rights are protected. The property tax codes where written to protect the property owners and I want to be a public servant who serves the public and to research and solve any issues they may have, as it is the public who you work for and they deserve to have their issues looked into and solved.

What qualifies you to serve in this office?

14 years in the real estate business with the top firm in Houston. Up to date knowledge of the Texas property tax codes. Member of the National Association of Realtors, Texas Associate of Realtors, Houston Association of Realtors. Board member of the ESD 3 board in Wharton County, Precinct 203 chairman for the Republican Party, Wharton County. I'm a sixth-generation Texan, with family in the ranching business for more than 100 years, Wharton County.

If elected, how will you go about effectively serving your constituents?

Add to the position of the Tax Assessor-Collector the duties of the Taxpayer Liaison Officer per section 6.052 of the property tax code. This person would resolve disputes not related to protest under section 41.41 and would assist property owners in understanding the appraisal process, protest procedures and related matters. Create a list of real estate companies in the county, to provide comps for values, get attorneys involved providing a protest service to property owners with a percentage fee charge only if the protest is won.
