As spring cleaning is underway, many people in the community will be contemplating how to preserve new-found treasures.

This week libraries across the country will celebrate Preservation Week by offering information on preserving collectibles, family records, photos, and much more.

The theme of Preservation Week is "Pass it on." The Victoria Regional History Center at the Victoria College/University of Houston-Victoria Library will provide handouts with preservation tips and information.

Online resources for preserving family treasures can be found at the Library of Congress's website, www.loc.gov. Click on http://www.loc.gov/preservation/family/index.html
