Overall a good story with only one glaring issue. Corporal Aguilar is a Marine, he IS NOT a soldier. There is a difference and I wish people would understand it. Regardless, welcome home my brother and Semper Fidelis!

Straightforward, I pray that your son comes home to you and your family safe and sound. Thank you for your sacrifice, and thanks to him for his.
This was truly a heart-warming story, and very well-written. Great job, Advocate. And to the citizens of Victoria, this Marine said something that truly touched my heart and should make us all stop and think. There are so many soldiers out there, serving their country, standing in harm's way, not just in Afghanistan, but everywhere, with no family support back home. If one small group of wonderful ladies could make such a huge difference to 200 Marines, think what we as a city could do this year if we all came together to make care packages for service personnel serving away from home? This is a city of 75,000 people. The love and thankfulness we could share with soldiers everywhere around the world could be enormous. Remember, this isn't about whether or not you agree with a certain war...this is about thanking our service men and women. I would be happy to help spearhead such an endeavor. If anyone agrees, you can contact me.
But back to the original story...thank you so much for your service, Cpl. Alejandro Aguilar. I am so glad you are home safe. God bless you and your family.
