The Victoria Police Department is looking for two men in connection in with Tuesday afternoon's shooting death of Jerry Paul James III, 37, and the wounding of a 24-year-old woman.

The suspects, Dedrick Roy Bonner, 18, and Donnell Deshaun Dilworth, 22, were seen arguing with James prior to the shooting, then leaving the scene in an older white four-door vehicle with dark tinted windows, said Victoria Police Chief JJ Craig.

The occupants of a black Charger who were detained Tuesday for questioning were determined to be not involved in the shooting.

About 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, James and the woman, whose name has not yet been released by police, were shot at the Regency Studio Apartments, in the 100 block of Regency Avenue, said Victoria Police public information officer Sgt. Eline Moya.

The woman was taken to Citizens Medical Center for treatment.

An infant boy, believed to be the child of one or both of the victims, was unharmed and taken into the care of the police.
