A second-grade student at DeLeon Elementary School attacked his teacher Tuesday afternoon, forcing the rest of the students to evacuate the classroom.
The teacher was not seriously injured in the attack, district spokeswoman Diane Boyett said Wednesday.
The student "lost self-control," so kids were removed for their safety. Afterward, the school called each of the students' parents to inform them of the incident, Boyett said.
"The student is being provided services to help him learn the skills for self-control," she said.
No criminal charges will be filed because of the student's age, she added.
Because of student privacy laws, Boyett could not say where the student would finish the remainder of the school year.
