Flyers season ends at state tournament

WACO - St. Joseph's tennis season conlcuded Wednesday at the TAPPS 5A state tournament in Waco.

Three Flyers advanced to the tournament before being ousted in the quarterfinals.

In singles competition, David Du avenged a first-round loss at last year's state tournament by upsetting the second-seed player 6-1, 7-6 (4).

The sophomore's run ended in the quarterfinals, where he lost 6-0, 6-2.

The boys doubles team of Keaton Warren and Alex Innes, who also lost in the first round last year, won their opener 6-2, 6-0, but the senior tandem was defeated 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
