HOUSTON - Meagan Villegas, Emily Bergstrom and Baylea Wagener pitched a combined 10 scoreless innings over two games to help the University of Houston-Victoria sweep Houston Baptist Saturday afternoon.
UHV won Game 1 6-0 behind strong pitching and a perfect day at the plate from Brittany Arredondo. The Jaguar shortstop was 3-3 with 3 RBIs.
Emily Bergstrom allowed an earned run on six hits in four innings in Game 2 to lift the Jaguars to a 9-1 victory. That contest was just five innings, yet that was enough for senior Kelly King to drive in three, and score a run of her own.
Wagener pitched the final inning of both contests as the Jaguars won their 13th straight contest.
