Three arrested in downtown drug raid
Victoria police officers confiscated more than 200 grams of cocaine, $25,000 in cash and a stolen handgun Friday morning in a drug raid.
Three residents were arrested when the police department's special crimes unit and the Victoria County Sheriff's SWAT Team served warrants on two apartments in the 600 block of East Juan Linn Street.
Sgt. Eline Moya, of the Victoria Police Department, said the items confiscated could be related to gang activity.
Moya also was not sure whether the raid was related to the raid Tuesday on North DeLeon Street.
The two incidents are being investigated separately.
Officers also confiscated marijuana, synthetic marijuana and two vehicles. The gun was reported stolen in Jackson County.
Juanita Rodriguez, 29, Jevetta Ornice Lott, 27, and Ray Lott, 28, all of Victoria, were charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Rodriguez also was charged with theft of a firearm. Jevetta Lott was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, and Ray Lott was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
They were being held in the Victoria County Jail on Friday.
Moya said the raid was the result of tips from community members who noticed suspicious activity in the area.
