60th Anniversary Allan and Doris
Allan and Doris Witte, of Inez, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2012. A family dinner was held in their honor, at the home of their son, Daniel Witte and his wife Lori.
The event was hosted by the couples children and their spouses. Twenty-five guests were in attendance. The couple was presented with a trip to Coushatta, LA, from their children.
Doris Hanselka and Allan Witte were married on June 24, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez. They have 3 children: daughter, Monica Zacek and husband, Dennis, of Edna; son, Daniel Witte Sr. and wife, Lori, of Inez; and daughter, Kendall Pfuhl and husband, Ricky, of Inez; 8 grandchildren: Jill McDonald and husband, Matthew, of Spring; Jan Lewis and husband, Lee, of Edna; Kali Ellison and husband, Bradley, of Edna; Danny Witte Jr., of Austin; Brittany Meadows, of Austin; Haley Meadows, of Austin; Jace and Abby Pfuhl, of Inez; and 3 great-grandchildren: Julianna and Katherine Lewis, of Edna; and Lyla Ellison, of Edna.
Allan retired from Union Carbide, after thirty-four years of service. He is also a retired farmer and Korean War Veteran, and enjoys hunting and fishing. Doris worked part-time at an accounting firm. She is actively involved in church organizations and community activities, and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
