Receipts: 1,030

Had 71 cows and 12 bulls. There were not many cows and bulls on hand. The market was essentially the same as last week's better market.

The calf market was steady with last week's market. Market was solid throughout all classes of calves as it did not get any stronger or weaker than last week. Very few calves weighing under 300 pounds. Some may be a couple of dollars cheaper but still pretty solid market.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $85-$105; lower grades, $80-$88.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$73.50; boning cows, $68-$78.50; canners and cutters, $68-$86; light and weak, $40-$70.

Palpated dry cows (four head): $72-$81; pairs: none.

Compared to last week: Better quality classes of calves and yearlings sold $2 to $3 higher on the heavier weights and $4 to $8 higher on classes 500 pounds and down. Demand continues good in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold $1 to $2 higher on about 180 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $75-$87; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $63-$75; light weight canner cows, $53-$63.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $97-$103.50; utility and cutter bulls, $88-$97; light weight canner bulls, $78-$88.
