Picture ID is only way to assure truthful election

Editor, the Advocate:

I read the pro/con article about requiring Texas voters provide picture ID. Whether you are liberal or conservative, everyone should want an honest truthful election and the only way to assure that is with picture ID. As citizens, we must show picture IDs to do most everything, yet it does not seem to discourage minorities, young individuals or elderly. With the current political views, I never thought I would agree with a liberal viewpoint until now. In the con side of the article, Mr. Nick Picasso stated that he feels that if a person pays taxes, they should be able to vote. I fully agree with that statement, but wonder how the 48 percent of the U.S. population that pays no taxes might feel about that and are those not some of the same individuals referenced earlier?

It's also comical the reference to not being involved and being sheep led with no voice, kind of like the last three years of doing what the majority stands for, right. I also seriously doubt that the law was meant to just discourage a people from voting, it's not racist, it's not biased, it's not profiling and it's not even George W. Bush's fault. It is the right thing to do.
