Use of word 'victim' was not good choice

Editor, the Advocate:

The headline on Aug. 16 uses the term "traffic victims." Please consider the following: A person wants to scout around Area 51. Signs posted warn "Trespassers will be dealt with use of Deadly Force." The person is found shot dead the following day inside Area 51. Question: Is this person a "victim?"

It is sad when someone is violently killed, however, when they are breaking the law they are not "victims." People are responsible for their actions regardless of the circumstances/excuses.

Hope the Advocate editors will use more appropriate and accurate verbage on this and other volatile subjects. In this case, "Result of Illegal Immigration?" is more appropriate.

My name is Pat Petrisky and I approve this letter to the editor.
