Crossroads residents looking for locally-grown produce will soon be in luck.
The Victoria County Farmers Market's fall season kicks off Saturday at 2805 N. Navarro St.
The market will offer seasonal produce, such as homegrown squash, watermelon and cantaloupe, as well as plants, breads, jams and more, Market Manager Noah Thompson said. A few new things, including handmade chairs, hobby horses and other items made of wood from Thompson's Thomaston property, will also join the mix.
"We had some trees that blew down and some where the drought weakened the roots," he said. "I would hate to see them go to waste, so I made all kinds of stuff."
Spaces are still available for producers looking to sell.
The farmers market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays. For more information, or to register to sell items, call Thompson at 361-277-2268.
