At almost every St. Joseph High School football game, Torin Bales is there wearing his blue Flyers shirt.
As the father of a St. Joseph volleyball player, Bales does his best to go to every football game, as long as it doesn't conflict with his daughter's games.
Bales said his parents used to travel a lot and missed his games in Plano, which is why he's done his best to be there for his children.
"My hobby is spending time with my kids," Bales said. "I love sports of all kinds. I like seeing kids progress."
Bales, who was at a recent football team practice, said he noticed an increased amount of camaraderie among the players and their new coach.
"They play Christian music really loud during practice and the players really like it," Bales said. "It looks like they're going to have a good season."
