Train noise is especially bad in subdivision
Editor, the Advocate:
On Nov. 30, I read Jennifer Foster's letter about the train noises and them disturbing the peace with their loud and long whistle blowing. I live in Brentwood subdivision, and it disturbs about 200 or more households. They blow from Telferner to past John Stockbauer Drive, sometimes constantly. I live seven houses away, and it disturbs TV watching, conversations, etc. One conductor even plays a little song with the whistle sometimes.
There is nothing said about a "quiet" zone out here, and to make matters worse, we have only one way out of the neighborhood, and that's across the tracks. We were told that in about three years they were going to put in a bypass at Telferner. That was never mentioned again.
File a lawsuit for blocking our access to emergency vehicles and for disturbing our rightful peace and quiet. They are the railroad. They can do anything at any time and get away with it. People's rights do not concern them.
