Casey James is one tough guy to get in touch with.
He's on the road promoting his new self-titled album on his Taste of Country Christmas Tour. On Monday, the Texas musician will head to the American Country Awards in Las Vegas hoping to win Music Video of the Year: New Artist for "Let's Don't Call It A Night."
James' self-titled album released in March 2012, went to No. 2 on the country charts, but his influences are surprising rock 'n' roll: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lynyrd Skynard and Pearl Jam.
With no contact information on his website, messages left unanswered and deadline approaching, we turned to the American Idol star's Twitter account for an untraditional spin on the Q&A. Let's call it the "Twinterview."
@CASEYJAMES, WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME MEMORABLE PERFORMANCES?
Nov. 13: Remember the Margaritaville show? That was a fun one. Cool lighting too.
Nov. 10: What a great night opening up for Mr. Alan Jackson. Such a great band and crew. Always a pleasure. Thanks to everyone for coming out!
@CASEYJAMES, WHY DID YOU DO "NO SHAVE NOVEMBER?"
Nov. 19: ... It feels good to do something good ... Support St. Jude.
WHAT'S THE FUNNIEST THING THAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU LATELY, @CASEYJAMES?
Nov. 2: Funny story. I went to the yogurt place to get some tart yogurt with Captain Crunch. (Yes, men eat yogurt too). COAS video was playing on the TV behind the counter. I was with Chris my co-producer, and we said wow! What are the odds? (100% in that case). The girl was humming the song and tapping her feet. She said, "He has great hair." I said, "Oh, thank you." She said, "No, not you, the guy on the TV." Haha! So, I said, "Yeah, that's me" laughing the whole time btw. Bless her heart, she must have had a long day. She just kinda stared at me. Not quite understanding what I had just said. Then Chris told her, "That's him." Pointing at me. Haha! She still didn't understand. Really made my day!! Normally would never have said anything. But sooo, sooo glad I did! Haha! Thanks to the sweet girl behind the counter at the yogurt place in Brentwood, TN. Good times. Not sure that was worth the amount of tweets it took. Sorry. Really made me laugh though.
WHICH IS BETTER: THE MATRIX, THE MATRIX RELOADED OR THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS?
