Drivers should slow down, watch for pets

Editor, the Advocate:

We live on County Road 429 in Lolita, where it appears there is no speed limit. On Nov. 27, a beloved member of our family got out of the house. Our dog was killed in what we can only assume was a high-speed accident. People continue to speed down this road, and I can only question if the person who hit our dog would have been driving a little slower, this might have been prevented. To the person who hit our dog, you didn't just kill a dog. You killed a member of our family who continues to be missed. So please slow down, and if you accidentally hit a dog wearing tags, it would be a kindness to at least to try and find their family.
