Victoria College recently issued its Fall 2012 issue of CareerFocus magazine. The magazine is mailed to households throughout VC's service area, including Calhoun, DeWitt, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio and Victoria counties. Residents of Goliad County also receive the publication.
CareerFocus features helpful career and college information, including an A-to-Z listing of the programs and courses offered at VC.
The career toolbox section offers articles about dealing with stress and why good manners are needed in the workplace. Other sections include tips for succeeding in college, information about a new career exploration website for Texans and an article about how specialized skills training offered by VC helps keep local industries and employees competitive.
This issue spotlights VC's instrumentation program, which prepares students for a good-paying career as an instrumentation technician. Instrumentation technicians set up, test and operate instrumentation and electronic devices, such as pressure gauges, speedometers and radiation detection devices.
The program spotlight section includes success stories from both a student and a graduate of the instrumentation program as well as a spotlight on the curriculum coordinator and instrumentation instructor.
CareerFocus magazine is a free publication from Victoria College and serves as a resource to help students and workers in the Crossroads area plan and prepare for the future.
