Victoria West boys beat Orange Grove in overtime

Victoria West went to overtime and captured a 40-38 overtime win over Orange Grove on Tuesday night at the District Events Center.

Eight players scored for the Warriors (7-7), who also defeated Orange Grove 47-46 in overtime of the Pride of Texas Tournament in Corpus Christi on Saturday.

James Murphy scored nine points to pace West.



Carroll tops West girls

Corpus Christi Carroll had three players in double figures and captured a 58-40 win over Victoria West on Tuesday night at the West gym.

Ceara O'Donnell scored 13 points, Holli Evans had 12 and Darias Whittington had 11 for the Lady Tigers (14-3), who are ranked No. 22 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Class 5A poll.

Mercedes Ellison scored 11 points to lead West (15-6).



East boys lose road game

CORPUS CHRISTI - Corpus Christi Carroll jumped out to a huge lead and cruised to an 86-42 win over Victoria East on Tuesday night at the Carroll gym.

The Tigers led 44-19 at halftime and were never threatened. Demarcus Washington scored 19 points and Marcus Ellison had 17 to lead Carroll.

Christian Herring scored 11 points for the Titans (5-7).



Faith boys down Regents

AUSTIN - Geoffrey Graff converted five 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Faith Academy to a 56-39 win over Austin Regents on Tuesday night.

Eli Espindola added 13 points for the Cougars, who improved to 12-7.
