A woman and an infant were transported to DeTar Hospital on Wednesday evening when the 2005 Jetta that the woman was driving flipped over on U.S. Highway 59 South. The vehicle was traveling north on the highway when it veered to the left for an unknown reason, flipped over and came to rest on its top at the edge of the outside southbound lane.

An 18-year-old woman was using the GPS on her cell phone when she rolled her car in the 900 block of U.S. Highway 59 South Wednesday, officials said.

Lorena Chapa was traveling north on U.S. Highway 59 about 5:30 p.m. in a white, four-door 2005 Volkswagen Jetta with her 4-month-old son, Efren Gutierrez Jr. She veered to the left and crossed into the southbound lanes because of "driver inattentiveness," said Sgt. Gabe Huber, of the Department of Public Safety's Highway Patrol.

Huber said no citations were issued for the one-vehicle incident.

Chapa and Guiterrez were treated and released from DeTar Hospital Navarro, officials said.
