Delivering newspapers is harder than you think

Editor, the Advocate:
Last week, I attempted to find part-time work to supplement my income. I answered the flyer that came in my newspaper, advertising for delivery people for the Victoria Advocate.
Upon my arrival, I met the wonderful people who deliver the papers for the Advocate. I quickly learned how hard everyone works in this delivery service.
I was met by Tom Link. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. As he showed me "the ropes," he worked so hard to make sure that each and every newspaper was properly delivered to Advocate customers, even getting out of his vehicle to retrieve newspapers that I had improperly thrown, and placing it in the correct place for the customer, not once, but many times.
Unfortunately, the delivery service is too fast-paced for me. However, as I learned, the people who deliver the Advocate are hard-working, loyal, dedicated people to the Advocate, who work very hard to make sure all of us get our Victoria Advocate each and every day.
I have taken the Victoria Advocate for more than a decade, and I certainly have gained new respect for the people who deliver our newspaper in the middle of the night, in all kinds of weather.
I hope that all customers, and the "powers that be," at the Advocate appreciate these loyal, dedicated people, who work so hard to deliver the paper to all of us who love the Victoria Advocate.
