A new online resource is available to help Texans explore college and career options.
TEXASgenuine.org makes it easy for students to find information on potential careers and the related education and training offered at public community colleges and technical schools throughout the state.
The website is a major component of a statewide campaign to inform students and the general public about Career and Technical Education in Texas.
"CTE instructors are committed to providing the best training, relating real-world experiences and sharing their invaluable knowledge - a proven equation that leads to successful futures for college graduates," said Victoria College director of marketing and communications, Darin Kazmir. "TEXASgenuine training opens doors for people in Texas who want to improve their lives and become truly successful in their chosen fields."
But CTE programs benefit more than the students who enroll in them.
"CTE programs are also focused on meeting the needs of business and industry," Kazmir said. "TEXASgenuine also means Career and Technical Education supports local, regional and statewide economic growth by providing business and industry with well-trained and knowledgeable workers."
Funding for the TEXASgenuine CTE Project was provided through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board with Discretionary Leadership funds received from the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006.
Victoria College is featured on the TEXASgenuine website as one of many Texas community colleges offering a wide variety of quality Career & Technical Education options that lead to in-demand career opportunities.
