From coast-to-coast, South Texas doctors raise money for Hurricane Sandy victims

Cocktails and delectable beef plates from Mike Pozzi's Catering and BBQ, entertained guests at a local fundraising effort to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

As of Monday, $13,379 was raised ticket sales and donations to Breezy Point, Queens residents who lost their homes in a massive fire that broke out after the storm.

About 130 supporters arrived in their glitziest gowns and suits for the occasion set at the Spring Creek Event Center.

Party chairs Carol Ann Scherer and Dr. Manju Sachdev-Chandna started planning the event the first week of December.

Other key players were: Dr. Lucy Nguyen, Dr. Scott Stein, Dr. Emily and Mr. Duke Nguyen, Mrs. Namrita Parikh, Dr. John McNeill, and the Veterans Association - Victoria chapter.
