Acuna's 26 leads East girls over Beeville

BEEVILLE - Sonya Acuna scored 26 points to lead Victoria East to a 73-63 win over Beeville on Friday night at the Beeville gym.

The Lady Titans improved to 11-6 and took over sole possession of the District 30-4A lead with a 4-0 record. The Lady Trojans dropped to 16-4 and 2-1 in district.

Kendall Carter scored 15 points and Ramaya Dean had 12 for East. Victoria Elizalde paced Beeville with 19 points, Ciara Garcia had 13 and Tori Munoz had 11.

The Lady Titans return to action Thursday at 9 a.m. against Houston Madison at the Bryan-College Station tournament.



BEEVILLE TRIPS EAST BOYS

BEEVILLE - Beeville overcame a seven-point halftime deficit and claimed a 61-58 District 30-4A win over Victoria East on Friday night.

Brent Reyna scored 24 points and Cameron Kremers added 19 for the Trojans in their district opener.

Jalen Wilson scored 14 points, Christian Herring had 13, and Trevon Ramey had 10 for the Titans, who dropped to 6-9 and 0-2.



COUGARS DOMINATE

Faith Academy had four players in double figures and opened TAPPS District 6-2A play with an 80-42 win over San Antonio Trinity on Friday night.

Geoffrey Graff scored 18 points, Crovey Pearson had 17, Eli Espindola had 16 and Jonathan Luck had 14 for the Cougars, who improved to 16-7.
