Lady Titans go 2-2 at McDonald's Invitational

COLLEGE STATION - Victoria East split games on Thursday and Friday at the McDonald's Invitational tournament.

The Lady Titans (13-8) opened with a 46-24 win over Houston Madison before dropping a 55-42 decision to Clear Falls and moved into the Silver bracket.

Sonya Acuna scored 15 points, Kendall Carter had 13 and Kamri Hardeman and Ramaya Dean each had 12 as East defeated Arlington Sam Houston 76-33.

Bre Williams scored 18 points, Carter had 12 and Acuna had 10 but the Lady Titans were eliminated from the tournament with a 59-58 loss to Pearland Dawson.



Nolan thumps Flyers

FORT WORTH -- Fort Worth Nolan Catholic limited St. Joseph to six points in the first quarter and went on to a 77-37 win over the Flyers on Friday at the Nolan Catholic tournament.

Nolan led 26-6 at the end of the first quarter and was never threatened.

Cody Janak scored 18 points and Adam Konarek had 10 for St. Joseph, which dropped to 10-8.

The Flyers will play Dallas Greenhill for third place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.



Cougars earn split

FORT WORTH - Faith Academy split a pair of games at the Lake County tournament on Friday.

The Cougars (17-8) lost 52-47 to Houston Cypress Christian before defeating Orange Community Christian 70-61.

Eli Espindola scored 19 points and Jacob Nunez had 12 against Cypress Christian.

Espindola scored 20 points and Geoffrey Graff had 16 against Community Christian.
