Five music students from Victoria College will participate in the Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir Wednesday through Saturday at the Convention Center in San Antonio.
Kelly Janak, Jill Celaya, Justin Meyer, Matthew Crigger and Joseph Kaminski were selected to sing with the 150 to 200 member choir during the performance on Saturday.
Directed by Lynne Gackle, the All-State Choir will perform selections by Hasse, Webster, Bernstein and many more.
Prior to the performance, singers are scheduled to rehearse as many as five times a day for about an hour and a half each time.
Despite the rigorous rehearsal schedule, Crigger is looking forward to attending.
"It's a good opportunity to have fun and socialize with other music geeks," said Crigger.
He also said that singing with an All-State Choir is excellent material for a resume and looks great on a university transfer application.
Soprano Kelly Janak is attending the All State Choir for her third and final time; the other four are attending for the first time.
