  • There use to be when I lived in town. You have to put your name on a complaint before they would move on it was the old rule. I had to use it. I would get ahold of my city councilman and make trips to city council meetings with recordings of the dogs. Just stand there and let it play while they listen and let them speak first. Then say now you know what I have to put up with. May take more than one trip. The modern day problem with people not disciplining their animals nor caring about their neighbors.

I agree with you. I came to Victoria in 1966. My wife knows that if she passes before me that I am out ot this city and out of this county.

  • You are absolutely correct about the dog barking ordinance however, it is not, nor do I think it be enforced within the letter of the law in Victoria.

I have called the VPD & Animal Control many times in the last few years to no avail. I even called the city attorney to discuss this & was told that the DA would probably not prosecute the complaint until it was submitted several times.

I hate to call VPD as they have many more important duties and when I have called, they respond, but nothing changes after they leave.. I even have the phone number next to my chair so I don't have to look it up anymore.. I went to the police station a couple of years ago, but after waiting for an hour to talk to someone, I just gave up & left.

I cannot hardly use my pool or back yard due to incessant dog barking & fighting among the three or four behind me...

Now I am surrounded, neighbors on three sides and across the street all have barking & howling dogs... but the ones behind me are the worst.. sometimes all day and late into the night...

I guess I could always sell my house & move..

    Frustrated
