Victoria wrestlers prepare for regional meet in SA

Three Victoria East boys and one Victoria West girl will be competing at the Region IV wrestling tournament at the Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio.

Warriors' 110-pounder Morgan Moses, and Titans Michael Pena (113 pounds), Dalton Jedlaka (170 pounds) and Travis Barr (195 pounds) will all attempt to extend their high school careers' after qualifying at the District 30-5A meet last weekend.

"They are all seniors, so this is their last hoorah," East and West head coach Fred Mease said. "They are ready to roll.

"We had a real physcial week of practice on Monday and Tuesday, and then we tapered off and now we are here."

The boys weigh in for the two-day, double-elimination tournament at 7 a.m. and begin wrestling at 8:30 a.m., while the girls weigh in is set for 2 p.m. with compettion scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
