The Victoria Generals will have two familiar faces on their roster for the 2012 Texas Collegiate League season.
Generals general manager Blake Koch on Wednesday announced the signing of outfielder Trent Wagner and pitcher Covey Morrow.
Wagner, a Memorial graduate, is a junior at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
He hit .274 for the Generals last season with three home runs, two triples, 10 doubles and 35 RBIs. He also stole 22 bases and scored 37 runs.
"Trent is a tremendous athlete who had a breakout season last summer," Koch said in a news release. "Trent has caught the eyes of several scouts in the area recently because of his play."
Morrow, a Yoakum graduate, is redshirt junior at Texas State.
He set a TCL record for appearances in a season with 30 as the Generals' closer last season. Morrow had nine saves, a 2.68 ERA, and struck out 34 batters in 37 innings.
"Covey had a great summer last year coming off of an arm injury," Koch said. "He was our most reliable arm out of the bullpen and should have another big season."
