Thank you for this touching story. Devin and DeAndra, it's heartwarming to read how this program has affected you. Keep up the good work! You are in my prayers.
I, too, would like to help make Devin's dream of keeping Alice possible. Gheni, please let us know how to make this happen. Your post about donating to the program instead to help with program expenses is duly noted, but the first order of business is to help Devin and Alice stay together.

This piece was in the Star Telegram in Fort Worth. We too are willing to contribute towards a fence and adoption fees for Devin whenever he becomes eligible to adopt Alice. It is important for both Alice & Devin to maintain the bond they have formed. Will contact Adopt-a-pet to check on the status. Thanks.

Good ideas Unbelievable. There can also be a vet fund set up - I bet Dr. Beck would work with us on that. Alice may need follow up care or shots.
I am sure there will be lots of donations to the program itself. Let's stay on track and work this out for Alice and Devin.

It's Georgetown area. Surely if no one up there will help, a small group can go up and build a fence in a few hours. I'd be willing to donate some dog food because that's going to be the biggest expense each month. The initial adoption money isn't too much but that month expense might be. A gift card for PetSmart might be helpful if he gets to adopt Alice. Then he can buy dog food or get care for her. This is a great story and I love to hear about kids changing their lives around. I hope he sticks too it.

ok - Who can fix the yard/fence situation out there? A little thing like that never stopped the good people of Victoria from doing good things....

**UPDATE**
Hello everyone,
I just spoke with Pama Hencerling, chief juvenile probation officer at the Juvenile Justice Center.
Hencerling said Devin may not be able to adopt Alice not only because of the money situation, but also because of the yard/fence situation where they live.
Those willing to donate to Devin and Alice are asked to instead donate to Adopt-A-Pet and tell them they want it to go toward the Dream Seekers program. The money will go toward maintaining and caring for the dogs. The donation will be tax deductable!

Hello everyone,
I’m glad you all want to help. I don’t have a contact name for you, but I’m sure if you call Adopt–A-Pet, 361-575-7387, or the Juvenile Justice Center, 361-575-0399, they should be able to direct you to the person you need to speak with to be able to make a donation for Devin to adopt Alice. I'll update y'all if I get anymore information. Thanks.

This is one of the most positive programs I've heard of in a long time. Congratulations to the person who initiated this and best of luck with its continuation.
Along with henryc82960, I too would donate for an adoption. If possible, please publish how this can be done.
Good story, Advocate.

I'm willing to help Devin adopt Alice if he keeps his nose clean and finishes the program. I think this is a very good responsibility teaching tool for kids that still have hope for change. Please put me in touch with someone that can help me follow through with this.
