This week, we would like to introduce three more VC Pirates baseball players.

Casey Rinehart, a 2010 graduate from Overton, will provide a strong arm in the outfield and on the mound. Rinehart is a good contact hitter with great speed.

Orlando Mendez, a 2010 Bloomington graduate, will play second base and provide relief behind the plate. He will also provide a threat with his speed running the bases.

Lloyd Alford, from Calhoun, returns to the team from last year's first exhibition season of club baseball. He will take on first base duties in addition to seeing time on the mound for the Pirates.

The VC Club Baseball Team will host its first home game during a doubleheader against Lone Star Community College-Montgomery on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. The second game will follow at 1:30 p.m.

All VC Pirates home games will be held at the VISD Event Center Baseball Field located next to Memorial Stadium.

Come out for the festivities and enjoy hot dogs and some great baseball.

Lone Star CC-Montgomery is a Division I team within the NCBA league, so the Pirates look forward to some great competition.

The Victoria College Sports Report is contributed by Kelly McKay, a professor in the Victoria College physical education department.
