Officials on Tuesday released the names of a man and woman found dead on New Year's Eve in Calhoun County.
Sharon Susan Lucey, 53, was found dead Saturday morning in an RV on Magnolia Beach, Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Nancy Pomykal said.
A friend tried to wake her at 10:45 a.m. Saturday and found her to be unresponsive, Pomykal said.
Lucey had recently moved from Colorado to Texas and was living in an RV in a rented space on Magnolia Beach. There were no visible signs of trauma and no immediate cause of death was determined.
A few hours after Lucey's body was discovered, the body of Nicholas Aaron Rudd, 25, was found at 2:45 p.m. in his family's home in Seadrift, Pomykal said.
Rudd and his brother had a few drinks the night before and went to bed about 2 a.m. When his brother went to check on Rudd that afternoon, there were no signs of life, and no immediate cause of death was determined.
Both bodies were sent to Travis County for autopsies. It will take four to six weeks to get the toxicology reports that can determine the exact cause of death. The deaths are being investigated, but there is no cause to suspect foul play, Pomykal said.
