The numbers are in for Citizens Medical Center's Make our Area Safe for the Holidays program.
The program helped 43 Victoria residents, who may have had too much to drink, get home safely through a free cab service.
The service began in 1982 and the goal is to prevent drunken driving between Dec. 23 and Jan. 1.
"The holidays are a time of joy and celebration, and this program helps to prevent tragedies from interfering with holiday festivities," said David Brown, chief executive officer of the hospital. "We want people to celebrate, but do so safely and responsibly by either having a designated driver or taking a cab."
