New Digs: Drive-thru convenience store opens on Navarro Street
Eskimo Hut is slated to open Thursday at 1609 N. Navarro St. The drive-thru convenience store offers snacks, soft drinks, beer and more, all available without leaving the car, said Brian Dobbins, the company's vice president of business development. Frozen daiquiris and margaritas are also available, packaged in heat-sealed plastic bags with warning labels that remind customers not to open them until they reach their destination.Corey Kroos will manage the local store.Dobbins said Eskimo Hut chose Victoria because the demographics fit and the city's population continues to grow."It's something you guys don't have that you want and need," he said. "And we're the people to bring it to you."Hours are 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and noon to 11 p.m. Sunday.Job openings are still available. For more information, visit EskimoHut.com or pick up a paper application inside the store.

Robert,
January 9, 2012 at 11:01 p.m.Or surfing between XXX porn and posting on The Victoria Advocate.
GOP,
We all know alcohol is not dangerous. Why? Because anyone that drinks does so responsibly.
If it were dangerous, the United States would have a war on it as well.
Hmmm??? Anyone ever heard of alcohol or someone over indulging in it causing a problem?
January 9, 2012 at 11:49 a.m.Truth is that for all the B.S. behind Mad Mothers and self-serving politicians there is an easy solution to alcohol/driving enforcement. It's called ZERO BAC, one drink and you don’t drive, but there's to much alky lobby and tax money involved to treat this killer problem like we treat our school kids with Zero Tolerance. Not to mention nearly every lobbyist and legislator drinks and drives.
January 9, 2012 at 11:45 a.m.if drinking and driving is premeditated murder, drinking and posting can't be too far behind.
murdering eyes and brain cells !!!
January 9, 2012 at 8:13 a.m.Funny posts, but to the best of my recollection, most of the parking-lot collisions involve those of the elderly persuasion who can't remember which pedal is used to stop the car. They weren't drunk, just distracted by pictures of the grandkids.
January 8, 2012 at 11:52 p.m.If drinking and driving are illegal, why do bars have parking lots?
January 8, 2012 at 11:28 p.m.To drink & drive drunk is premeditated murder.
January 8, 2012 at 10:53 p.m.Come on folks, what's the difference between walk in or drive thru alcohol?
January 8, 2012 at 9:58 p.m.That's funny Rebecca..:-)
They used to have an actual drive through on the Bloomington HWY and as I recall there was one where the Old Spanish Village used to be.
January 8, 2012 at 4:47 p.m.Exactly, Rebecca. How many crashes did it take, nearly 2 dozen?
January 8, 2012 at 4:36 p.m.It says that demographics fit. ;) Maybe they decided to go ahead and give this city what we've been demanding. A store we can drive through, literally and legally!
January 8, 2012 at 4:26 p.m.I like the idea of drive-in convenient stores. I won't have to put on shoes!
January 8, 2012 at 4:23 p.m.Mixed drinks and beer available without leaving your vehicle--could make that phrase "drive in" a reality, especially with the way cars are attracted to buildings in Victoria.
Bad idea. Really bad idea.
