Raymundo Bustos, of Victoria, was taken to Citizens Medical Center after his vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Impala that ran a red light at the intersection of East Airline Road and North Ben Jordan Street, Victoria police said.

A Victoria man was taken to the hospital after a two-car collision at the intersection of East Airline Road and North Ben Jordan Street at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Raymundo Bustos was in a Chevrolet Equinox heading north on North Ben Jordan Street and attempting to turn west onto East Airline Road, said Senior Patrol Officer Herschel Buck, with the Victoria Police Department.

Bustos, whose age was not available at the scene, had a green light, Buck said. His vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet Impala driven by Tiffany Rodriguez, 18, of Victoria, who was westbound on East Airline Road.

Rodriguez was cited for running a red light, Buck said.

Bustos' vehicle then struck a tree on the southwest corner of the intersection, Buck said.

He was taken to Citizens Medical Center, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

It appeared both drivers were wearing seatbelts, he added.
