CROSSROADS COMMUNITY BAND

Nothing wrong with tooting your own horn, especially if a group of colleagues joins in to toot theirs, too.

The Crossroads Community Band gives musicians that opportunity, and new members are needed for the 55-member group.

Members range from ages 15 to 90. The musicians include high school and college students, retirees, local and area educators, university employees, business professionals, librarians and doctors, among others.

Since 2009, the band has presented concerts at the Welder Center, Victoria West and the Victoria Fine Arts Center.

It has also had special performances at Northside Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, UIL Concert Band competitions and the opening ceremony of Warrior's Weekend.

The band rehearses from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Stroman Band Hall.
