  • jcodyhawke,

I'm sorry you didn't like the piece I wrote. Maybe if you re-read it, you'll see that I didn't give the restaurant any negative comments. I have been to Athena's on several different occasions and have not had a bad experience. The food is good. The food is fresh. I never said it was otherwise.

If you have tips on how I can become an ideal food critic, shoot me an email. I would love you hear from you, jrodrigo@vicad.com.

  • Jessica,
u missed the boat completely.....there are but a few restaurants in Victoria that are not either tex-mex ethnic or a poor excuse for a franchise. Add to that the fact that most other places serve tasteless farm raised or frozen seafood that often reeks of ammonia and it doesn't take long in this town to realize that Athena is one of only a handful of restaurants that CONSISTENTLY serve fresh, delicious home made dishes. The prices are slightly higher and the service sometimes slow, but to me it's worth it. You really need to educate yourself and get out more if you're going to be a food critic.
