I totally agree with with you---------BUT---the deck is definitely stacked against him. Maybe probation and counseling-AT HIS COST-would be more effective than incarceration-IF it goes that far..............................

So this guy was terminated about 4 years ago and he just now got arrested, what has he been up to until now? Sounds like this guy has been running some sort of scam, if he had balls enough to tell a real officer that he also an officer, its highly likely he was diverting attention from the real source of his activity, I would certainly run this guy through a fine toothed comb......but this is just me, certainly not telling anybody what to do

sounds like a brain evaluation is in order for this guy. A complete workup on this one needs to be done. I see time in the slammer if our DA Mr. Taylor has anything to do with it.

And if I might add. Don't always mean to come off real harsh or mean to anyone, but it is what it is and a lot of times you just have to be real. I was wanting to see a pic of this guy, and what do you know. Just as I visualized it. Little pathetic guy that probably got his lunch money stolen when he was in school, then became a cop to get back at the world. Then wasn't man enough to be a cop. Was terminated and is not a licensed peace officer. Then went on and claimed to be a Sargent in Bexar County when got pulled over. People, we need to watch out for folks like this. They are everywhere. Make the 90% of good cops look bad.
