Editor, the Advocate:

In partial support of R. Sykora's letter dated Jan. 18, if you were to ask any Hispanic, black or white person, in any given urban area, about witnessing for Jesus? You would get a number of nebulous replies; but most would, ignorantly, ask you, "What is that?" Most people have a stumbling block, called "the great deceiver" in their path. Tim Tebow is a Christ follower and not a commercial trend setter.

Tebow is faithfully doing God's will for life. This is his purpose in life, which is the advancement of God's Kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven.

In Acts 1:18 ... "You shall be a witness unto me in the uttermost part of the Earth."

In Galatians 6:7 ... "For every man shall bear his own burden." God has given each one of us a burden; however, Jesus took the burden to the cross. Now believe in Jesus, but also believe on the cross.

The mockers have been around for more than 2,000 years and their goings-on are the same except where there is civil law. The book of Matthew 10:22 states, "And you shall be hated of all unbelievers for my name's sake." Jesus calls these mockers haters of him.

The Bible teaches us not to hate; it teaches us to love. So you go out and tell others (in your own style) about your life in Jesus, and Jesus in your life, and be a witness to him. Tell the people of his salvation, his righteousness and his followers. You should also remember this: There are questions and answers and solutions, and all are in the Bible; go there, and get his wisdom.

What a beautiful article you wrote, many complain when a person seems to be to open with the Gospel; praying in public & such.

I am sure the devil is glad that he doesn't have to contend with to many people like you & Tebow, it would make his task at hand much more difficult

    God Bless GW.

  • Beautifully written, God has a purpose and a plan for us all. The way we share Jesus with others comes in so many ways, the most important being the great love that He gives us for others. What a mighty way God is using Tim Tebow.
    Colossians 3:12-20
    New International Version (NIV)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

    Don't be a HATER ! ! ! !

  • “Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you” (Matthew 6:5-6).
