Decora Study Club hosts meeting
The Decora Study Club met on Jan. 10, at the Victoria Women's Club House. President Francisca Watts called the meeting to order. The collect was led by Ann Heinrich, the pledge to the American flag by Jalayne Tupa, and the pledge to the Texas flag by Sandra Pyle.
The program centered on "homelife" and was given by Kathryn Klingle a registered dietitian from Citizens Healthplex. A very informative talk with a slide show presentation was given titled "Cooking Light" for your health.
Vickie Grimes gave the treasurer's report which included $200 from the fall bake sale being donated to the Victoria Food Bank. Jane Cox called the roll and reported 50 members present. Minutes from previous meetings were approved as read by Mary Ann Wright, recording secretary.
Serving as hostesses for the meeting were Martha Jones and Barbara Rix. Membership committee members serving were Mary Ann Wright and Mary Jane Schurtz. The social committee was Norma Nelsen, Rose Drost and Margaret Vaughan.
The January Book Sale for Friends of the Public Library was discussed; several members were placed on the prayer list; and birthdays were recognized.
The next meeting is Tuesday, with the program being on public issues. Marcy Worsham will introduce Joey Hall, vice president of the Eagle Ford Asset Team, who will speak on Eagle Ford Shale.
