Thumbs-up: I just got my recycling bin. It's about time, Victoria! We all need to save our Earth. This is a small step, but everything begins small at birth. May it now mature so that future generations will follow the green path.
Thumbs-up: I am no great sports fan, but I admire good journalism. Mike Forman and Frank Tilley both tell great stories in their reporting ... Frank with fewer words.
Thumbs-up to the veterans who wear their caps letting us know when they served ... gives us an opportunity to shake their hands and thank them for their service to us. They are so humble and appreciate it, too!
Thumbs-up to Rick Perry dropping out of the GOP race!
Thumbs-down to the Meadowcreek addition walkers who do not clean up after their dogs. Homeowners should not have to clean up the mess that is left. Carry a bag, and pick it up.
Thumbs-down to the government for the pending legislation of SOPA and PIPA. If it passes, it will be the first act of a communist government!

Thumbs-up to Charlie Hauboldt for winning the ticket to go see the Ravens and Texans play. The money from the auction of the ticket goes toward the purchase of a church bus.

Thumbs-up to the Brackenridge Event Center's third annual Winter Carnival and Snow Day in Edna.
Thumbs-up to Michael Gonzalez, whose work in finance has taken him to the nation's capital. Gonzalez was a Bloomington High School graduate.
Thumbs-up to Lucille Anderson and Ruth Sergant who celebrated their 100th birthdays. Both women were school teachers.
Thumbs-up to Texas Coast Tough Mudder competition. An 11-mile obstacle course in Edna was designed by British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.
Thumbs-up to Courtyard Gallery in Cuero, which is transitioning from a site based art gallery to an event-based art, music promoter. It is celebrating this with an all-day art, music show on Saturday.
Thumbs-up to Carl Lyons, who is starting up a gardening project to give fresh produce to area food banks.
Thumbs-up to the Hallettsville Livestock Show.
Thumbs-up to Sonny Long, who authored a first-person account of a triple homicide in East Texas. The book marks the 20th anniversary of the killings.
Thumbs-down to all the fires in the area.
Thumbs-down to the continuing drought and lack of rain.
