A shooting involving four Victoria men at the Dragon Night Club resulted in a second investigation by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, according to TABC Sgt. John Mann.
The victims of the shooting incident in the 2500 block of North Laurent Street were identified as Raul Herrera, 25, Torres Luis Enrique, 27, Edgar Eduardo Herrera, 26, and Lyndell Chanik, 44, all of Victoria. Two of the men were transported to Citizens Medical Center, and the others were treated at the scene.
The conditions of the victims, as well as information on the suspects, were not being released while the investigation continued, said Sgt. Eline Moya, police spokeswoman.
When shots rang out shortly after midnight Sunday, Aurora Villarreal huddled in fear on the floor with her children in her home near the Dragon Night Club.
Villarreal said while she has never been to the bar, its rough reputation caused her and her neighbors to live in fear.
The club's violence in the neighborhood sparked a secondary investigation by the TABC.
"I am distraught the neighbors don't feel comfortable in their own homes," said Sgt. John Mann, the TABC area supervisor for Corpus Christi and Victoria.
Mann said he was shocked to hear of the neighbor's concerns because he has never had complaints about Dragon Night Club before.
"We have requested a record of the calls for service for that location for the past six months from the Victoria Police Department, so we can check and see if we do have a place that needs to be investigated further," Mann said.
Mann said if this is a recurring issue, the TABC will take steps to educate operators on how to establish authoritative control of their premises.
