A Victoria boy injured his finger at noon Tuesday.

The boy, who was about 4 years old, was playing with the chain of his bicycle in the 2900 block of Power Avenue when his finger was caught, said Officer Jason Stone, with the Victoria Police Department.

The call was originally made that the boy had partially amputated one of his fingers, however that was not the case, said Shannon Martin, Victoria Fire Department battalion chief.

The boy was transported by ambulance to a Victoria hospital.

His name was not released and he was expected to be released Tuesday.
