The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi issued a severe weather alert for late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

An upper level disturbance is expected to enter the Crossroads, bringing ahead of it isolated showers, thunderstorms for Tuesday afternoon.

There is an increased chance for stronger storms in Tuesday afternoon with the possibility of wind gusts up to 50 mph with small hail.

By late Tuesday night, as the main force of the upper level disturbance makes its way into the area, there is a higher possibility of even more severe thunderstorms and possible isolated tornadoes north of Corpus Christi.

Some areas in the Crossroads could see an inch to an inch-and-a-half of rain.
