Ms. Irene's House Daycare, which serves the families of 12 children, was closed Thursday by authorities, pending an investigation by Child Care Licensing.

The owner of the daycare declined to give her full name or comment.

The daycare at 105 Crosswind Drive in Victoria is under investigation for allegations of standards violations and improper discipline, said Mary Walker, spokeswoman for Child Care Licensing.
